What is up with this weather?! We go from 70 degrees one day, to rainy and 45 degrees the next. I don’t know about you, but typically this gloomy weather makes me feel pretty down. This past week though, that was not the case. I had many wonderful things happening to keep me in a good mood!
My social studies class was able to start their game, which they were excited about and it took some pressure off of me. For the social studies unit I teach, the students are part of a live action game in which they are assigned roles such as loyalist, patriot, delegate, governor, etc. They are supposed to use the classroom to describe and recreate the American Revolution. We have only had one full day of the game, but so far it is looking good.
WIN groups have started up again, and I am blessed with another group of enjoyable, funny students. Our current WIN group rotation is for theme, which the students enjoy and are able to catch on to quickly. This makes teaching it a lot easier and less stressful. The students in my group are big on “motivation”, so they have requested I play motivational speeches before every assessment they complete.
The best part of my week is still somewhat of a secret! I want to wait a while longer before posting about it, but I promise you will all know soon. Just know that good things are happening, despite this gloomy weather. Enjoy your week and send positive vibes to everyone you see!
